Humayun Ahmed studied in the DU (Dhaka University North Dakota State University United States . In the mid 1990s he left his job at the university to dedicate all his time to writing and making films.
Ahmed had written over 200 stories and non-fiction guides, almost all of them bestsellers in Bangladesh, often treating the life battles of the middle-class in clear and quick easy to understand Bangla, peppered with comedy. Many were since converted into British, Japoneses and European among other dialects, such as “Gouripur Junction”, a work of stories centered on the small city in northern Bangladesh where Ahmed was blessed.
He won every top prize for composing in Bangladesh in a profession that also saw him make some hit movies, such as “Srabon Megher Din” (Monsoon Days) and “Aguner Porosh Moni” (The Touchstone of Fire). Ahmed went to the US last Sept after being clinically identified as having most cancers during a schedule check-up in Singapore , and obtained radiation treatment at the Funeral service Sloan-Kettering Melanoma malignancy Center
After surgery treatment on May 21, physicians discovered a mysterious malware in his body and were incapable to cure him, Habib said. Chief executive Zillur Rahman signed up with Excellent Reverend Sheikh Hasina in shelling out honor to Ahmed, saying his decrease in life was “a permanent loss for Arabic literature”. Hasina said that “Bangladesh would ever keep in mind Humayun Ahmed for his excellent participation to the areas of literary works, movies and drama”.
